
The purpose of the Salt Lake Swimming & Tennis Club’s Adult Tennis Program is to generate enthusiasm for tennis and actively engage adults. In turn, influencing their families, friends, and peers to join in and play tennis for a lifetime of fun, fitness, and friendly competition.
These are 90-minute classes where players are welcome to participate whether they are on a league team or not. From a new beginner to highly experienced players, you are welcome to join in morning and evening workout schedules. Work on grips, preparation, footwork, racquet face position and finishing strokes. Are you looking for a fun, energetic, aerobic workout? Join the 90-minute Cardio Tennis workout on Saturday mornings from 8:00 am – 9:30 am. Get ready for a fast-paced aerobic tennis workout with mix of footwork and cardio exercises, all done to energetic music.
The Salt Lake Swimming & Tennis Club is a member of the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) and the UTA (Utah Tennis Association). The Club’s League teams compete in sanctioned Adult League at all NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) levels and all members are welcome to participate.
Joining a league can be a great way to experience the fun of playing competitive tennis and making new friends. League tennis provides plenty of opportunities to improve your game and develop camaraderie with your opponents. Players compete against opponents of similar skill level. The Salt Lake Swimming & Tennis Club offers a free Stroke of the Month Clinic Series to help improve your stroke production and technique. Join Director of Tennis, Rod Horton, for these fun and valuable clinics. All clinics are held on Court 1 from 10 – 11 am.
Aimed at those individuals looking to get a “grip” on the correct swing techniques associated with achieving a higher level of tennis, in order to enjoy a lifetime of competition and fun that will enable YOU to take your game wherever YOU want to take it!
Consists of five 30-minute to 1-hour private lessons, within a 2.5 week time block. Work on the proper fundamentals and techniques associated with “getting tough!” You will then be informed about the appropriate direction to move within the “Get Tough” program and how to best utilize what our programs have to offer. This particular program will get you on the FAST TRACK toward the technical, physical and mental growth needed to reach higher levels in your game. “Come to play and Get Tough!”
Class time: Scheduled through Rod Horton, Director of Tennis, with one of our USPTA-certified staff, at your convenience.
Cost: Five 30-minute private lessons: $140 OR five 1-hour private lessons: $240
