Stroke development and getting “technically tough” is your pathway to higher level player development. How one grips the racquet for correct racquet face position, racquet preparation, footwork, and finish are key fundamentals, which we will focus on. It is very important that you first learn the basic stroke fundamentals thru private instruction to gain the most benefit, and then following through with the repetition and “physically tough” aspects of our Elite Stroke Development Program. It is important that you attend as many times as possible to create solid muscle memory. This class is all about DOING IT RIGHT and HAVING FUN! This is the most important part of the “Get Tough” experience as these players advance themselves toward the Elite I/A!

These players are encouraged to get involved in ladder match play, novice/challenger/open tournaments, Junior Team Tennis, and high school varsity/junior varsity. Advanced players should have lower Utah ranking as pre-requisite.
Elite I/A continues to focus on the technical aspect of the players game with regard to stroke development and all shots needed to create a more well-rounded player. More emphasis will be placed on the physical aspect of a player’s development thru target hitting, repetition, and on court physical training. We will engage them in situational point playing and court awareness, in order to move them toward the third part of getting TOUGH!Mental toughness will begin taking shape when the technical and the physical aspects come together in match situations and playing competitive points. Self-esteem, confidence, and discipline are vital when it comes to mental stamina. The goal here is to prepare the players for competitive match play and get most of the technical wrinkles ironed out. There will be a need to play enough tournaments in order to establish a lower level ranking in Utah before moving into a higher level mindset: the Collegiate Elite Training Camp.
