Class Levels
Elite: (Top High School varsity players) Ages
13-18 with 4-8 yrs of playing experience. This phase is marked
by many hours of practice and honing of technical skill and expertise
into personal excellence, while playing at the highest level of
competition. In this program the best players bring to the court
a clear understanding of their game style, the patterns of play
they use, and the ability to win points with multiple weapons.
The criteria for this program is:
* Top 300 National Rankings
* Top 30 Sectional Rankings
* Top 7 Utah Rankings
* Coaches recommendation due to work ethics and motivation
Academy I: (High School varsity players) Ages
13-18 with 4-8 yrs of playing experience. This stage will prepare
players to compete in local tournaments and at the high school
level. The students will receive personal training from a certified
and educated tennis professional. The development of personal
style of play, on-court decision making skills and stroke development
are essential during this phase, and will help players to transition
to the Elite program.
Academy II: (High School varsity and high junior
varsity players) Ages 13-18 with 3-5 yrs of playing experience.
At this point, the athlete wishes to become a serious player.
Players no longer want to just play tennis; they want to be good
tennis players. Pros will offer instructions and drills that will
help the students to understand how to control the height, direction,
spin and speed of the ball which will translate into success during
match play. Acquiring these skills will help students advance
to Academy I and the Elite program.
Academy III: Ages 10-18 with 1-4 yrs of playing
experience. During this phase, it is essential that young players
develop agility, balance and coordination. In this class, we will
introduce singles strategy for match play as well as basic footwork
patterns. We will also introduce our players to the intra-club
league which will assist them in learning how to compete in match
play settings.
Flight I: Ages 9-14 beginners to intermediate.
This is our introductory program for kids ranging from beginners
to those who may have played for less than three years. Students
are divided into ability level and are taught the fundamentals
of the game. At this stage, we emphasize proper grips and swing
paths for the forehand, backhand, volleys, serves and overheads.
We introduce the students to basic rules and strategy for match
play that will help them advance to Flight II.
Flight II: Ages 6-9 beginners to low intermediate.
The fun continues at this level, but we also want to build a solid
foundation for proper grip and technique. Instructors will teach
a style that will yield the greatest success and will also prepare
the students to easily transition to Flight I.
Future Stars: Ages 4-6 Beginners to low intermediate.
Having fun and developing a love of the game is our primary focus
at this stage. We want our students to develop gross motor skills
such as: running, catching, jumping and balance that will help
them transition to Flight II. An energetic and playful atmosphere
will be maintained in this class.
Students enrolling in the Academy will be placed
in the appropriate class level by the teaching professionals.
